Local Mercy

"The first service that one owes to others….consists in listening to them." -Dietrich Bonhoeffer.

Serving our Community

All Souls is a church for Rockland. What this means is that we seek to be intentionally serving the area by giving our time, our talents, and our money to help bring lasting social, physical, and spiritual renewal to the community we call home. This is what God calls “Shalom” or wholeness, and it is what we believe Jesus came to restore to all of creation.

This can be as simple as coaching a little league team or raking leaves for an elderly neighbor, or as robust as providing food and shelter to the homeless or helping to maintain a litter-free town. But, as we are learning, what this means, first of all, is listening.

As we listen to our community and get a clearer picture, both of the needs around us, and of how we might be able to help, our goal is to be a church that serves not only our local community, but also our global home. This will consist of developing strategic partnerships with global missions and designing ways for our local church to reach around the world and see Christ at work.
